Description

Boulderoid is a remake of the classic Boulder Dash game. It includes maps from the original game as well as other sequels. There are two different graphical tilesets (one approximating the C64 game and another original better looking set) included, and there's a level editor so you can make your own levels. Boulderoid is a DOS game that is a clone of Boulder Dash. It was developed by CodeWraith Software, MacroHead & MicroBrain, and published by MacroHead & MicroBrain in 1994. Key Features: Clone of Boulder Dash: It offers similar gameplay mechanics to Boulder Dash, where you control a character named Rockford and must navigate through mazes, collecting diamonds and avoiding hazards like falling rocks and enemies. Enhanced Graphics: Boulderoid introduced improved graphics compared to the original Boulder Dash, with support for VGA graphics and sound cards. Level Editor: The game included a level editor, allowing players to create their own custom levels and share them with others. Multiple Graphics Modes: Players could choose between two graphics modes: the original style or a more modern "Boulderoid" style. However, due to legal issues with the original creators of Boulder Dash, the development of Boulderoid was halted, and the final version released was 1.15. To play Boulderoid: You can find the game on various online archives and download it to run on a DOS emulator like DOSBox.
